Wear eye protection and chemical resistant gloves. Remove dirt, dust, grease and oil by washing with a detergent solution or UGL DRYLOK Concrete Cleaner & Degreaser . Allow the surface to dry before applying DRYLOK Etch.

If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH- approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.

To remove efflorescence, clean mortar or etch galvanized surfaces, dissolve 12 ounces of Etch in one gallon of warm water; to etch concrete prior to painting, use 12 ounces of Etch to one-half gallon of warm water. Do not use galvanized container. Wear rubber gloves and eye protection.
Apply with a stiff brush. Wait 20-30 minutes. Flush thoroughly with clean water.
Treat smooth concrete with DRYLOK Etch. A properly etched surface should look and feel slightly rough, like fine sandpaper. If surface remains smooth, repeat the etching procedure until the surface has the proper texture. Thoroughly rinse the surface with clean water.

NOTE: Allow etching solution to remain on the surface for at least 20 minutes. While etching, the concrete surface should bubble. If some areas do not, this indicates deep oil or grease stains requiring additional cleaning. Scrub these areas again with a heavy duty detergent or UGL DRYLOK Concrete Cleaner & Degreaser and repeat the etching procedure. Allow the surface to dry at least 24 hours before staining or painting.

TOXIC–IRRITANT. Contains sulfamic acid. May cause burns. Irritates nose, throat and skin. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. In case of contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes; for eyes, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician. If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If difficulty in breathing persists, call a physician. If swallowed, give 1 or 2 glasses of water. Call physician immediately. These precautions apply to both dry form and solution.

Kills plants and shrubbery.

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
